Sunwapta Lake is the little lake at the toe of Athabasca Glacier in Columbia Icefield, Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. The lake drains into Sunwapta River, which flows alongside the Icefieds Parkway through Sunwapta Valley and eventually joins Athabasca River after Sunwapta Falls.
When the weather is calm, Sunwapta Lake gives a crystal clear reflection of Athabasca Glacier. On sunny days, the colorful meadows around the lake creates a nice backdrop for wedding photography, engagement photo shooting, selfie portrait, and family group picture.
Hiking to Sunwapta Lake is via the Toe of Athabasca Glacier hiking trail.
