July 30, 2013: a swimming pool under Racehorse Falls
Racehorse Falls is a hidden treasure nested along the Mount Baker Highway by the west border of Mt. Baker National Park. You will pass by this tourist attraction while traveling from Bellingham to Heather Meadows on Mt. Baker Hwy 542. Not many people visit this secluded yet magnificent waterfalls; at least it was such when I went there during weekday in the end of July. I was the only person there the whole time! Unlike many other waterfalls in Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, this spectacular waterfalls allows swimming in the pool underneath. Beside hiking and swimming, I assume camping is possible; there were tents by the Racehorse Creek. The waterfalls is near the village Maple Falls in Whatcom County, Washington; however, there isn’t any direct road from there. Read below for the driving direction to its hiking trail.

July 30, 2013: To get close to the falls as shown in the picture, you'll have to cross the creek at least once. Bring waterproof hiking shoes to wade through the water. Or if you're like me, just wear sandals. :D There are also logs and rocks arranged by previous hikers to cross the creek without getting wet.
