This giant Vikings statue was a famous roadside attraction in Gimli, Manitoba, Canada. It was erected in year 1967 to celebrate the 100 years of settlement from Icelandic origin. To date, many part of this little town still preserves its Icelandic culture and heritage. The town holds Icelandic Festival every year in August long weekend. See map below for its location
